About the Court
Riverside County is the fourth-most populous county in California and the tenth-most populous in the United States. It spans from the greater Los Angeles area all the way to the Arizona border, covering more than 7.2K square miles. The Riverside County Superior Court has been a partner of Journal Technologies for more than 35 years.
The Challenge
The Riverside County Superior Court serves more than 2.4 million people spread over 7,300 square miles. They have been a client of Journal Technologies since 1988, and they’re constantly focused on innovation - in fact, they’ve maintained no physical case files since 2012. In 2016, Riverside County decided it was time to upgrade their case management system to improve efficiency. The court handled approximately 5,570 filings per judicial position, the second highest number among the state’s 58 counties.
The Solution
Thanks to Riverside County’s years of partnership with Journal Technologies, they knew the importance of choosing a platform that would grow with them and a team that would provide consistent support. They selected Journal’s eCourt case management system in 2016 and use it to this day. The new platform has allowed them to operate more efficiently and manage their heavy caseload, accelerating the delivery of justice for their constituents. Their eCourt implementation includes all aspects of case management, as well as eFile-it and electronic payments.
