"If the success of a project is measured by the hard work as well as dedication to a project, the time committed to that project, and the incredible work performed by [Journal], this will be an amazing project! Without that, we would not have been able to achieve such an amazing product."

About the Court
Mohave County is one of 15 counties in Arizona and sits in the northwest corner of the state. Despite having a population of just over 200K, it is the fifth largest county in the United States by area. The mission of the Mohave County government, according to their website, is "to serve its citizens through the efficient management of resources and the promotion of cooperation among communities, in a visionary manner that enhances the lives of those served."
The Challenge
Mohave County sought to implement a case management system to support both their attorney’s office and their public defender’s office. Their case data would need to be converted into the new system, and they wanted to ensure that system involved end-to-end security to avoid any breaches of that data. The county aimed to accomplish this transition in an ambitious 12-14 month timeframe.
The Solution
Journal partnered with Mohave County to meet their needs and began the project with a planning phase to prepare the infrastructure for data conversion. Journal implemented a bi-directional interface between eDefender and eProsecutor, and conducted a mock conversion to ensure both parties were prepared for a successful and secure data conversion. Journal also conducted on-site training for Mohave County staff to ensure all users were prepared for the transition. The county went live with eProsecutor in early March 2023 and eDefender two weeks later.
